Honk!

18th to 21st May 2022

The Richings Players’ production of “Honk!” hatched in May 2022 and was well received with rave reviews and many, many compliments.

Following on from the first show after lockdown (“Ladies’ Day” in January), this musical adaption of “The Ugly Duckling” had plenty of quackitude and was directed by the dream team of Chairman Evelyn and her husband Toby Stafford-Allen (who also acts as the production’s Musical Director). Phoebe  headed up the choreography as well as performing in this magical tale.

Ever since the show took it’s first steps in 1993, Stiles & Drewe's musical, “Honk!”, has winged its way around the world in over 8,000 productions and in many different languages. Winner of multiple awards, including the 2000 Olivier Award for Best Musical, this heartwarming celebration of being different delighted audiences of all ages with its sparkling wit, memorable score and some absolutely stunning vocals.

Director Evelyn said;

“Toby and I were absolutely thrilled to be able to hatch this wonderful show in Iver Village Hall, having wanted to do it with Richings for a number of years now… and what a cast we found! It’s been so great bringing our young Players back into the fold alongside our adult members for the first time since 'Oliver' in November 2019 and their energy and enthusiasm was amazing throughout the whole rehearsal period and the show week."
